A Personal Workflow

To give the impression of sunlight playing upon the woodland I used another Adjustment Brush, this time with the Exposure set to +0.95 and Contrast set to +0.48. The thinking here was to better integrate the mid section of the composition with a little 'visual narrative' for our attention to easily flow from foreground and the boat to the mountains by providing a harmonious 'tonal step' along the way.

See below.

With the patch of sunlight now evident upon the woodland, I next addressed the light tones of the reeds and rushes with an Adjustment Brush reducing the Highlights setting to minus 43.

See below.

A further refinement to the lighter tones was necessary by using another Adjustment Brush with a combination setting of Exposure minus 0.20 and Highlights at minus 78

See below.

With tonal adjustments complete my attention was next to deal with some distracting elements within the scene.
