Setting 'Preferences' in CS3

The only change I make to the 'Guides & Grids' dialogue box is to set the 'Grid' 'Gridline every': to 25 percent.
I leave the 'Subdivisions' set at 4.

I choose 25 percent as this presents a grid spacing that suits the way I work. I find the default setting for mesh / grid pattern to be to fine for me. Try different settings until you're comfortable.

The preset colour for Guides, Grid, etc. can also be set within this dialogue box.
